Brian Selznick has written and illustrated many books for children including the Caldecott Award-winning The Invention of Hugo Cabret, which was made into the movie Hugo directed by Martin Scorsese. His book Wonderstruck was adapted by director Todd Haynes into the film of the same name, for which Selznick also wrote the screenplay.
In July 2018, Scholastic will release his new covers for the Harry Potter books in conjunction with the twentieth anniversary of that series. He lives in Brooklyn, New York and San Diego, California with his husband, David Serlin.
